Every now and then, one of our garments reaches a point where it needs a good wash or clean. So, we thought we’d share some of our top tips to help you when that time comes. We’ve broken down each fabric category to make it easy for you to follow the right care instructions. While we always encourage saving water whenever possible, sometimes clothes simply get too dirty to avoid it.
Denim (100% Cotton, Stretch Fabrics & flannel)
- Preparation: Turn the garment inside-out.
- First Wash: Cold or lukewarm soak in a tub to avoid excessive shrinkage.
- Washing: Machine wash on a short cycle with low or no spin (max 40°C/100°F).
- Drying: Lay flat or hang dry. Stretch the garment before drying to prevent shrinkage and creases.
- Important: Do NOT tumble dry! It may affect the leather patch, cause shrinkage, and leave white marks.
Leather
- Cleaning: Use mild hand soap or leather detergent with a soft cloth. Clean dirty spots in circular motions. Wipe off soap residue with a damp cloth and air dry, avoiding heat and sunlight.
- Conditioning: Apply leather grease with a lint-free cloth. Let it absorb for a few hours, then wipe off excess grease.
- Leather Oil: Use leather oil to keep the leather soft and supple. Apply with a clean cloth, let it absorb, and wipe off any excess oil.
Wool
- Washing: Hand wash or use a wool cycle on the machine (max 30°C/86°F). Always use wool detergent.
- Odor and Dirt Resistance: Wool naturally repels odors and dirt. Most of the time, airing it outside or in a humid room will refresh it.
- Important: Avoid regular detergent as it can damage the wool fibers.
